Link a video to your Blog, ask students to watch, and have them comment on something they have learned or would like to learn more about. You can embed videos from youtube, schooltube, or teachertube, although you should check to make sure the videos work at your school before asking students to participate.
This could be a very motivating way to get students to work at home and maybe even over holiday breaks.
Sample:
Watch this Video on the Amazon Rainforest and then comment on 2-3 things that you would like to learn more about as we study this topic. Be sure to be specific!
You may also comment on your classmates' thoughts.
